Job Summary
The Great Western Hospital is looking to expand our Bank Nursing team for the winter season and are seeking experienced, compassionate and caring registered nurses to provide the best care we can. We are looking for committed nurses who are passionate about doing the best for our patients through delivering excellent standards of care. Opportunities in all areas including Medical Wards, Surgical Wards, Theatres (all areas), Emergency Department (Adult & Paediatric) and Care of the Elderly via our Bank.

Our Trust Bank (Internal Temporary workforce) offer hours 'as and when required' or when you want to work; however, please be advised that availability for roles vary depending on demand and no role is guaranteed.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified and enthusiastic nurse, you will be experienced in dealing with conflicting demands typical of an acute and dynamic hospital environment. The post holder will plan, deliver and evaluate compassionate nursing care to meet the patients' individualised needs and ensure the highest standards of care and safety are maintained. You will also support the nurse in charge with the day-to-day planning, the delivery of a high-quality nursing service and the continuous improvement of that service. Our patient's needs are constantly evolving which means we need to adapt and innovate in order to successfully meet this challenge.

Job DescriptionJob responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting. They are responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role. The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will be expected to continue with their own professional development.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Current/live registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council.
Experience
  • Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge and practice after qualification and Preceptorship.
  • Experience within a range of patient/client care groups.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
