SEN Teacher Primary Teacher – SEN – January start – Horley area – We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Primary Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school community from January. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, ensuring that every child is supported, challenged, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to pupils with diverse SEN needs, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, SLCN, MLD, SEMH, and physical or sensory needs. Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and supported. Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans in collaboration with the SENCo and wider team. Use differentiated teaching strategies and resources to meet pupils’ varying learning styles and abilities. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, external agencies, and parents / carers to provide holistic support for each child. Track pupil progress using appropriate assessment methods and maintain accurate records. Contribute to wider school life, safeguarding practices, and the development of SEN provision across the school. Person Specification Essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs. Strong understanding of SEN strategies, interventions, and inclusive teaching practices. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Desirable Additional SEN qualifications or training (e.g., autism, dyslexia, phonics, trauma-informed practice).
