Job Summary We are looking for an experienced part‑time Paediatric Community Dietitian to join our team. This is a part‑time post (22.5 hours per week) and the hours are flexible. You will play a pivotal role in providing high quality nutritional care to children within the community setting of Wandsworth. Your responsibilities will include community clinics, managing a caseload of nutrition support and home enteral feeding patients. You will work alongside another Band 7 Paediatric Community Dietitian and be jointly responsible for supervising two part‑time Band 6 Dietitians. You will be expected to travel around Wandsworth borough using public transport, visiting clinics, patient homes and special schools. Clinic Locations St John’s Therapy Centre (Clapham Junction), Queen Mary’s Hospital (Roehampton), and Tooting Health Centre (Tooting). Key Responsibilities Conduct weekly general community dietetics clinics to assess and advise patients on their nutritional needs. Manage a caseload of nutritional support and home enteral tube feeding patients. Supervise Band 6 Paediatric Community Dietitians in a collaborative practice. Liaise closely with the large acute paediatric dietetics team at St George’s Hospital. Essential Qualifications and Training BSc (Honours) postgraduate degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent UK HCPC current registration Evidence of continuing professional development Desirable Qualifications and Training Post‑graduate training in a specialty clinical area such as BDA Paediatric modules, SOS (Sequential‑Oral‑Sensory), or behaviour change Membership of BDA and relevant specialist groups Essential Experience & Knowledge Post‑graduate experience of working in acute and/or community paediatric dietetic services at a specialist level including enteral feeding Experience in the clinical supervision of students or junior staff Experience in multidisciplinary team working Experience in teaching and education to patient groups and healthcare professionals in relevant clinical area Desirable Experience & Knowledge Experience working in community services Experience working with children with sensory/behavioural or aversive/restricted feeding patterns Experience working with children with physical, neurological and developmental disabilities Essential Skills and Abilities Good oral and written communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds Ability to prioritise own workload and that of others Excellent IT skills Motivation and counselling skills Essential Knowledge Knowledge of dietetics within the NHS Knowledge of dietetics within specialist areas, including evidence of specialist training Working at Masters level or equivalent in a speciality area Other Essential Able to respond to unpredictable work patterns and frequent interruptions Able to maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders Membership of the British Dietetic Association or another body conferring professional indemnity insurance Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and, as such, it will be necessary to submit a Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
