Social Worker | Child & Youth Justice Service | East Lancashire Join to apply for the Social Worker role at Lancashire County Council. Location: East Lancashire – Burnley office; travel across East Lancashire required. Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service (CYJS) works with children aged 8‑18 who are involved in or at risk of offending or anti‑social behaviour. The service provides support to children, their families, victims and communities through enhancing safety and supporting opportunities for positive futures. CYJS principles of child‑first, trauma‑informed, and restorative approaches guide all areas of work. CYJS has received a "good" HMIP Inspection judgement and is committed to delivering a child‑first approach, focusing on restorative practice and developing new initiatives such as a trauma‑informed approach. Social Workers in the Operations Team will deliver interventions within the community, custodial establishments and undertake work in courts. Social Workers in Prevention and Diversion will deliver community‑based services, ensuring children and their families/carers are supported by effective assessments and interventions to exit the criminal justice system at the earliest opportunity. Applicants must meet the essential qualification criteria, including a Social Work degree and relevant experience, knowledge and skills. A commitment to positive partnership working with parents and carers is essential. About You Collaborative – work in partnership with multiple agencies across children’s services to deliver best outcomes. Precise – detail‑oriented with experience in risk management, assessment and analysis. Flexible – willing to travel county‑wide to meet service needs, requiring adaptability.
