Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary, 36 hours per weekWorking Hours: 12 hour shifts, on a rota basisPay Rate: £13.40 per hour + 20%HRGO are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Operator to monitor the CCTV systems in and around Ashford, helping to keep the community safe and secure. Working in the 24‑hour monitoring centre, candidates should have prior experience in a similar setting, with an SIA license in public CCTV surveillance.ResponsibilitiesCollecting intelligence information and evidence to support internal departments and external partners, including the police.Reassuring and safeguarding the public by monitoring CCTV systems across Ashford, paying close attention to detail, and always employing safeguarding best practice.Taking on additional duties, outside of your job description, where required to provide assistance in the wider organisation.Following procedures in your day‑to‑day work, undertaking any additional training as necessary.General administration and record keeping.Taking enquiries, using initiative to ensure these are dealt with in a suitable and timely manner, as well as carrying out reviews and download requests.Occasionally there will be a requirement to act as a witness in court.QualificationsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.The ability to employ initiative and ownership in their work.Prior experience in a similar setting working with CCTV, with knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety practices.Capabilities to remain calm under pressure, and in potentially distressing situations.An SIA License in public CCTV surveillance is a strong advantage.Flexibility due to the requirement to work on a rota basis, including unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays.Please note: Regular police checks will be required for this position, due to the nature of the role.
