As a Support Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils-either one-on-one or in small groups-using tools like Makaton, PECS, and visual resources to build confidence and support learning.Your Role Will Include:Supporting children's development through personalised learning activitiesEncouraging independence, social skills, and self-esteem in a nurturing settingHelping create calm, structured routines to support emotional well-beingCollaborating with teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive lessonsMonitoring progress and contributing to pupil assessmentsProviding additional support to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and understoodAssisting with personal care routines respectfully and sensitivelyPromoting safeguarding and confidentiality at all timesWhat We're Looking For:Experience supporting SEN pupils in a school setting (primary preferred)A genuine passion for child welfare and proactive safeguardingPatience, positivity, and a warm, approachable attitudeFamiliarity with communication tools such as Makaton or PECSStrong teamwork and communication skillsSolid literacy, numeracy, and IT abilitiesJob Details:Location: WaterloovilleRole: SEN Support AssistantStart Date: 3rd November 2025Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM - 15:00 PM (part-time considered)Pay: From £13.96 per hourWhat We Offer:Access to accredited CPD courses including safeguarding and behaviour managementOngoing support from our dedicated Training and Development TeamProspero Teaching is acting as an education recruitment agency for this vacancy.
