Role description We are currently seeking personable, enthusiastic, and energetic Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our Cost & Commercial Management team and support our growing resilience business for a global client in the Water Sector. As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will work on a variety of water and utilities projects and programmes in the Reading and London area, delivering transformational outcomes for multiple clients and contributing to a more sustainable tomorrow. Role accountabilities Lead a project team alongside the Commission Lead, taking ownership of projects and administering post‑contract NEC contracts, including assessing contractual change and payments. Establish professional relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties to ensure collaborative project delivery. Use established financial systems to provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget. Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely applications through all governance gateways. Collaborate with client and commercial teams to manage deliverables, KPIs and objectives, including programme performance, cost control and value engineering. Provide advice on and manage risk and value management meetings as required. Manage client relationships and external stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and create new business opportunities. Analyze and review a range of data and documents, synthesizing key themes and trends to support cost and commercial decision making. Lead people and commissions as needed. Ensure final accounts are audited, negotiated and agreed. Other requirements Hybrid working with travel between London and Reading required. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated self‑management and prioritization skills with the to work under pressure. Strong knowledge of construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting. NEC contract experience. Experience managing and mentoring junior staff on projects ranging from £5m to £40m. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including influence of stakeholders. Knowledge of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, value management and value engineering. Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
