Overview Network Engineer – Central London, 12 Month FTC Roc Technologies delivers transformational IT solutions to organisations across the UK. We’re looking for a Network Engineer to join our Managed Services team on a major Public Sector project. You’ll be part of an on-site technical team responsible for installing and commissioning local area networks (LAN) across 102 customer facilities spanning 67 miles. Reporting to the Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key part in commissioning and testing network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with technical design standards. Professionalism and attention to detail are vital — you’ll be the face of the business on customer sites daily. Responsibilities Install and configure LAN switches, wireless access points, and other network equipment Carry out copper and fibre patching Troubleshoot and resolve wired network issues with support from the wider team Maintain network availability and document maintenance and testing procedures Update ITSM systems and network design documentation with clear and accurate notes Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues Identify and suggest improvements in installation and commissioning processes Work closely with the Managed Services team to support handover and continuous service improvement Maintain excellent customer care standards across all interactions What You’ll Bring Essential: Knowledge of common vendor switching and wireless technologies Understanding of LAN cabling standards and installation best practices Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Professional, self-motivated, and able to work independently Excellent communication and time management skills Desirable : Experience with Juniper or HPE Networking technologies Understanding of network security principles Experience with network cabling installation and site surveys NPPV3 or SC Clearance (or eligible to obtain) What We Offer Enhanced holiday allowance – 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
