Please visit our website: About the role Atelier Ten are offering graduate engineering and environmental design roles as a two-year graduate development programme to technically minded people looking to start a career in the built environment. Environmental design We also have environmental design squads looking to train and develop the next generation of expert designers, pushing boundaries of design, benchmarking and using data analysis to improve building performance while working closely with our engineers to make sure this happens. The kinds of projects we work on vary considerably. We look to apply robust and sustainable solutions to a huge variety of projects that we get to work on; they include small or large commercial developments, small or large residential schemes, theatres, museums and education buildings, as well as town or city masterplans. These schemes can be located anywhere in the world. The role will vary depending on which discipline or disciplines the applicant wishes to pursue and experience. Day in the life – Grad profiles Public Health Grad As a public health graduate the typical day can vary quite a lot depending on which projects I have going on and what design stage they are. A typical day involves calculations on a range of services, coordinating services within a 3D Revit model, and liaising with local water authorities about new or existing supplies. Some days we will be on-site reviewing installations and witnessing tests. There is also the opportunity to be involved with committees and groups such as EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion) or the social committee. Electrical Engineer Grad As an electrical engineering graduate you spend your day working on both design and construction aspects of the building, using AutoCAD or Revit to design electrical systems, ensuring safety regulations and energy efficiency, collaborating with other teams, performing load calculations, on-site inspections, and occasional factory visits. There are many social and cultural events throughout the year. Mechanical Engineer Grad As a graduate mechanical engineer you work on high-profile projects across the globe, performing mechanical load calculations and design work in AutoCAD or Revit, collaborating with other disciplines, visiting construction sites, and participating in the company’s inclusive culture and social activities. Environmental Design Grad As an environmental designer graduate, you might perform energy modelling or embodied carbon calculations, review thermal performance, and collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure sustainability goals are integrated into the design, with opportunities to learn via internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing forums. There is a strong focus on being innovative, with time for research and attending conferences on new materials, technologies, legislation or manufacturing processes, and sharing findings in internal forums and team meetings.
