Metadata & Data Governance Specialist Location: Greater London, England, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full‑time (FTE) Role Overview Genpact seeks a Metadata & Data Governance Specialist to support enterprise‑wide data governance and metadata management initiatives. The role focuses on enabling data transparency, regulatory compliance, and data quality by implementing and governing metadata across diverse data platforms. Key Responsibilities Implement and support enterprise‑wide metadata management and data governance frameworks Configure and manage metadata catalogs using tools such as Collibra, Atlan, Informatica, or Alation Define, document, and maintain business, technical, and operational metadata, data lineage, and classifications Collaborate with data owners and stewards to ensure consistent governance standards and data definitions Support governance workflows such as issue management and policy enforcement Enable data lineage and impact analysis across systems including Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, and DB2 Assist in regulatory and compliance initiatives (BCBS 239, SOX, GDPR, internal audits) Integrate metadata tools with enterprise data platforms Promote data governance adoption and best practices across business and IT teams Produce documentation, dashboards, and reports to track governance KPIs Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field 4–7+ years of experience in metadata management and data governance Hands‑on experience with at least one enterprise metadata/catalog tool (Collibra, Atlan, Alation, etc.) Strong experience working with multiple database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, DB2) Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, data lineage, and data quality concepts Preferred Qualifications Experience with OneSource or similar regulatory data platforms Exposure to open‑source governance tools (e.g., Apache Atlas, OpenMetadata) Financial services or banking domain experience Knowledge of regulatory data standards and enterprise risk frameworks Compensation The approximate annual base compensation range for this position is $100k–$130k. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and geographical location.
