As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be a crucial part of our mission to create an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally, regardless of their social, emotional, or mental health challenges. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualised support and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing. Position Details Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Southend-on-Sea Salary Scale: £85-£115 Contract Type: Full-time Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Implement strategies and interventions to support social and emotional development. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans. Qualifications and Skills Proven experience in a similar role is advantageous. Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents. Willingness to learn about relevant SEMH strategies and interventions.
