OverviewThis is an exciting and challenging role for a Senior Engineer to join a growing team of 130+ C&S Engineers and Designers. Our department covers projects from Concept Studies through Detailed Design across Water, Transport and Energy including Green Energy, Nuclear and Oil and Gas.ResponsibilitiesWorking with minimal supervision, the fundamental requirement of this role is to work with our existing design team including carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications and proposals for key local and regional clients, mainly in the Northwest.The role is ideal for a Senior Engineer who is looking for the next stage of their career development as this role will require supporting the Nuclear and Defence Lead Principal Engineer with recruitment, mentoring and development of others, and business development. In return you will be given the required mentoring, training and opportunities to succeed.You will;Take responsibility for leading small projects and sub tasks from a technical perspectivePrepare preliminary and detailed design analysis, calculations, specifications and related documentation for civil and structural worksCommunicate designs effectively to the BIM teamsCommunicate effectively with other disciplines and construction teamsCommunicate confidently and authoritatively with clientsChallenge and deliver value engineering solutionsSupport and guide more junior team membersYou will be based in Manchester typically 2-3 days per week with occasional visits to other offices and site.Essential QualificationsProven experience within the nuclear industryGood knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the disciplineAwareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirementsMinimum BEng Civil or Structural EngineeringChartership or Near with ICE or IStructEEligibility for Security ClearanceDesirableSeismic design experienceExperience of ACI 318/349, ASCE 4 and ASCE 43Experience with new and historic structures, including optioneering assessmentsExperience in leading small teams and supporting more junior engineersKnowledge and experience of common forms of contractsProject Management experienceRequirements Management experienceNuclear Industry recognised training and qualificationsCSCS or CCNSGSecurity ClearanceSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and DesignIndustriesCivil Engineering and Engineering Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
