NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.Our Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This post will be based in Cardonald Regional Centre.The RoleThe Head of Clinical Services for Mental Health will be clinically responsible for the operational delivery of all Mental Health services, ensuring clinical effectiveness of all services within the associated location and remit. The provision of visible, positive, inclusive, and cohesive Clinical leadership in order to enable the successful implementation of The NHS 24 Strategy. By means of effective and visible senior clinical leadership, the post holder will ensure the delivery of continuous improvement in patient care and minimise risk and harm to the public through the application of organisational strategic vision, professional & health care standards.Key Responsibilities Responsible for the management and leadership for all Mental Health frontline and Service Support staff within the relevant regional centre and associated local/remote centres in their geographical area Responsible for the improvement of mental health services within service delivery to ensure continuous quality, safe and effective care, within defined NHS 24 regional contact centres and national areas of responsibility Lead in the articulation and promotion of the organisational improvement strategy, in order to cascade awareness and belief, at all levels throughout the organisation Directly handles patient complaints/comments and will be point of escalation in handling complaints for the team Lead on key areas of workforce and team development to improve recruitment, retention and sense of staff value which will ensure stability and resilience of the clinical serviceSuccessful Applicant Will Be formally registered with a professional body e.g NMC Be educated to first degree level with postgraduate management qualification and/or relevant experience Demonstrate senior operational management experience and extensive clinical management in a Mental Health backgroundBenefitsNHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 8c £87,400 - £93,685 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable).
