Lecturer in Computer Science Location: Birmingham (Louisa Ryland House) Hybrid Working: 3 days on campus, 2 days from home (Monday‑Friday 9am‑5:30pm) Contract: Initially 12‑month fixed term Travel: Approximately twice per semester to Manchester (travel paid) QA Higher Education is looking for a passionate and dynamic Lecturer in Computing Skills to join our Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) team in Birmingham. Students may access the ACE team for additional academic support beyond their timetabled lectures. Participation is entirely voluntary and designed to enhance computing and study skills. Students are welcome to engage with the team for personalised computing and academic guidance for their needs. Ready to inspire the next generation of tech talent? Responsibilities Deliver engaging one‑to‑one tutorials and group workshops in computing and digital skills (face‑to‑face and online) Support students across a wide range of computing programmes to build confidence and succeed academically Create innovative computing and digital skills learning resources and video guides for our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the student journey and promote ACE across QAHE events Travel to Manchester twice per 12‑week semester to support learners on‑site Qualifications A degree in Computer Science or related field Passion for teaching and mentoring, with a student‑first mindset Experience in delivering tutorials/workshops and using digital tools to enhance learning Knowledge of the challenges faced by widening participation students Why QAHE?
