As a Second Chef at Runwood Homes, you will deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals without split shifts and long hours. We seek warm, motivated, and passionate chefs driven by quality and high standards to deliver person‑centred hospitality to our residents.Second Chefs support our Head Chefs and take the lead in their absence.Benefits28 days paid holidayWeekly payPension schemeBlue Light card and access to various discounts on travel, restaurants, and leisureEmployee assistance scheme available to family membersComprehensive induction and ongoing trainingFree DBS check and uniformFunding and support toward NVQ Level 1 and 2 in Health and Social CareOpportunities to progress your career within the companyFree on‑site parkingEmployee of the month awardsKey ResponsibilitiesEnsure all stages of food preparation maintain the highest standards for resident wellbeing.Ensure cooking and serving of meals follow the menu and company requirements.Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Hygiene regulations (England 2013 & Northern Ireland 2006).Ensure meal quality in terms of presentation and taste.Maintain portion control procedures to minimise waste.Meet individual dietary requirements by following charts, recipes, and adapting dishes as needed.Maintain necessary systems and checks for a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment.Store all food and other items correctly.Monitor stock, rotate effectively, and place orders when required.Deputise for the Head Chef when necessary.About YouThe ideal candidate will have relevant experience in a catering environment, understand special dietary and nutritional requirements, and be able to implement appropriate methods.
