As our business grows, so does the need for consistent, high-quality sales execution within global energy markets.We’re hiring a Technical Recruitment Trainer to sit directly within the commercial engine of the company, working alongside recruitment consultants who operate in complex, specialist Energy sectors. This role is designed for someone who understands that selling in Power, Grid, Oil & Gas, and Renewables requires more than surface-level sales techniques. It demands technical credibility, market fluency, and commercial judgement.The focus is simple: raise standards, sharpen specialist sales skill, and help consultants perform at their best in complex and demanding markets, every day.This is a practical role for someone who enjoys being close to the action, understands specialist recruitment environments, and can make improvements where they genuinely move performance.What You’ll Be Doing (Day to Day)You’ll be embedded on the sales floor, spending time with consultants as they work in energy-focused recruitment markets, listening, observing, challenging, and coaching through structured review and feedback.Away from the desk, you’ll shape how sales capability is developed across the business by delivering training programmes that support consultants in building stronger strategic understanding and sharper execution. This includes:Developing fluency across energy markets and project lifecyclesStrengthening how consultants communicate with contractors and clientsImproving consultants’ ability to sell recruitment solutions into complex, high value projectsSupporting consultants in navigating long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and technically informed decision makersHow the Role Is StructuredSales Development & CoachingDrive sales capability through structured call shadowing, desk-based coaching, and live feedback across the full recruitment lifecycle. From candidate sourcing and outreach through to client pitching, negotiation, and close.Coach consultants on how to sell into technical energy markets, including positioning, credibility-building, objection handling, and solution-based selling.Act as a trusted coach and role model, reinforcing effective sales behaviours, commercial discipline, technical understanding, and consistency of execution.Performance Frameworks & ProgressionWork closely with managers to identify technical and commercial capability gaps and implement targeted development actions.Monitor consultant progression against agreed development goals and probation benchmarks, sharing insights and outcomes with leadership.Use structured feedback and performance data to review the impact of training activity and refine development approaches over time.Leadership, Onboarding & CultureSupport leadership development by strengthening coaching capability within management and embedding performance frameworks into everyday practice.Play a key role in onboarding, helping new and graduate consultants quickly understand:Energy sector fundamentalsMarket terminologyClient and candidate expectationsBest practice sales behaviours in technical recruitmentStay close to evolving sales methodologies, energy market trends, and recruitment tools, introducing new frameworks where they add commercial value.Support a culture that prioritises technical competence, accountability, learning, and high performance.What We Are Looking ForExperience within agency recruitmentProven experience or strong exposure to the Energy sector, specifically Power, Grid, Oil & Gas and RenewablesDemonstrable understanding of technical or specialist recruitment marketsAbility to coach sales performance where technical knowledge and credibility are critical to successConfidence operating in live, performance-led environments, coaching consultants in real timeClear and confident communicator, able to deliver constructive feedback and build strong working relationships across the businessOrganised and structured in approach, able to juggle hands-on coaching with longer-term development initiativesCommercially minded, with a clear ability to link training activity directly to revenue and performance outcomesThe BusinessJanikin Energy is a global engineering recruitment organisation, partnering with leading companies across Power, Grid, Oil & Gas and Renewables projects worldwide.
