Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivatedHGV Workshop Technician / Mechanic to join our team of highly skilled technicians.As the successful HGV Technician / Mechanic you will reportto the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager and be a key member of the team. Working in a time critical distribution environment, your key accountabilities will include;Servicing and maintaining DPD’s fleet of approximately Mercedes Benztractor units and in trailers.Fault Diagnosticson vehiclesMOT Preparationfor the vehiclesWeekly / monthly checks of HGV vehiclesMechanical and Electrical repairson vehiclesSince November over 60% of our HGV Fleet use Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO)QualificationsAbout YouAs the successful candidate you will have had experience working within a similarHeavy GoodsorHeavy Plantrole, or have knowledge ofyellow goods repairs. Ideally you will be Level 3 trained inVehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time served technician.You will have knowledge of working onMercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo and Renaultvehicles.You must demonstrate the core values of DPD's DNA – Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and AccountabilityIt would be advantageous if you wereirtech licencequalified however this is not essential as we can provide further accreditation for this.A LGV Class 1 DrivingLicence is desirable for this role but not essential.Additional InformationAbout our BenefitsWe recognise that our people are at the heart of our business, without them we wouldn’t be able to deliver our award-winning service to millions of customers across the country each day.
