You will have the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining experience across disciplines.About the teamDevice Monetization and Themed Experiences (DMTE) team, part of the Advertising organisation, builds high-performance graphics and OS foundations powering the FRAME engine — enabling smooth, responsive, and visually rich experiences on millions of devices. We optimise GPUs, memory, and performance using modern C++ and BrightScript, collaborating with firmware, UI and product teams to ensure a fast, reliable platform for the next generation of streaming.About the roleAs a Senior Software Engineer in the DMTE team, you’ll design, implement, and optimise low-level C++ and BrightScript systems for graphics rendering, OS services, and the FRAME engine. You’ll tackle complex, performance-critical challenges to deliver buttery-smooth visuals and instant responsiveness at scale. You’ll shape core architecture, work across hardware, firmware, and application teams, and directly impact tens of millions of users.What you'll be doingBuild scalable UI features optimised for millions of usersLead technical investigations and architect solutions for complex embedded systems challengesIntegrate AI/ML capabilities and leverage generative AI tools to accelerate developmentCollaborate with cross-functional teams on global platform featuresDevelop engineering tools and mentor junior developersStay current with AI trends and emerging technologiesWe"re excited if you have5+ years software engineering experience with UI development expertiseAdvanced C++ skills plus proficiency in Python/JavaScriptStrong root cause analysis and technical communication abilitiesKnowledge of AI applications and experience with generative AI toolsProactive mindset with passion for continuous learning and fast iterationBenefitsRoku is committed to offering a diverse range of benefits as part of our compensation package to support employees and their families.
