Overview Salary : £85,000 – £95,000 Location : West London / Hayes (Office-based) + site visits as required (all London based sites) Type : Full-time, permanent Benefits : Company pension, Cycle to Work Scheme, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) A leading Building Services Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is a senior role within an established M&E business, offering long-term stability, strong career progression, and the chance to influence and improve estimating processes across multiple projects. The Role As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key part in securing new business and ensuring tenders are prepared accurately, competitively, and in line with company standards. Responsibilities include : Preparing, analysing and submitting mechanical tenders across a diverse range of building services projects. Carrying out detailed take-offs, cost build-ups, and analytical estimating. Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements. Managing supplier and subcontractor enquiries to obtain competitive and compliant quotations. Identifying risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options during pre-construction. Liaising with internal teams, senior leadership, clients, consultants, and supply chain partners. Presenting commercial and technical aspects of tenders for director-level approval. Supporting handover processes to delivery teams with clarity and accurate documentation. Contributing to the development of estimating systems, cost libraries and process improvements. Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required. About You We’re looking for someone who brings : Extensive experience in mechanical estimating within building services / M&E contracting. Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods. Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings and specifications confidently. Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of tendering processes. Strong communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel. A proactive, organised and detail-driven approach to managing multiple bids.
