Your key responsibilities will include:
- Wire and assemble electrical control panels for industrial machines and scientific instruments based on schematics and engineering drawings.
- Create cable assemblies, looms following the latest drawing sets.
- Conduct circuit verification on electrical installations to ensure functionality and safety (Dead test).
- Conduct live circuit testing on mains (LV 230VAC and SELV 24VDC circuits).
- Utilize Digital Voltmeters (DVM) and other test equipment to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any issues encountered and solutions implemented.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure all work meets industry standards and specifications.
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven experience in electrical panel assembly and wiring following schematics and assembly drawings.
- Proficiency in using tools such as Digital Voltmeters (DVM) and other relevant testing equipment.
- Knowledge of basic electrical testing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Qualifications:
- Relevant electrical qualification to verify and test, such as a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent.
- 17th and/or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification is desirable but not essential.
- PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) but training can be provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working at height on raised platforms.
- Capable of performing bench work and handling small components.
