About the Role The Hygiene Section Manager will be based at our Scropton site near Hatton, Derbyshire. The role is factory and office based in a fast‑paced, dynamic FMCG environment that is noisy and refrigerated in some areas. You will lead and support the Hygiene team, which works in shifts to cover factory requirements from 16:00‑06:00, Monday‑Saturday. Key Responsibilities Manage hygiene, coordinate team activities and maintain audit‑ready hygiene standards at all times. Provide training and development for the team. Ensure all elements of the hygiene service are carried out to the required standards. Maintain detailed cleaning instructions and schedules for hygiene activity. Conduct COSHH assessments, risk assessments and document safe systems of work. Order and maintain levels of cleaning chemicals and equipment in communication with external suppliers. What You'll Need to Be Successful Knowledge of hygiene from a hygiene or production background, ideally within the food industry. Experience in a FMCG or fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Strong people‑management skills and confidence in motivating teams. General understanding and interest in food hygiene and microbiology. A positive and proactive attitude with the confidence to challenge when necessary. Hygiene qualifications and/or internal auditor qualifications would be desirable.
