Principal Clinical Psychologist - Plastic Surgery & Burns Join to apply for the Principal Clinical Psychologist - Plastic Surgery & Burns role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. A fixed-term post of 12 months. To provide a specialised Psychology service to the Plastic Surgery & Burns Service in Glasgow Royal Infirmary; offering highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy, and advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. The Clinical Psychology service provides specialist psychological therapy input to inpatients and outpatients with psychological problems associated with burns, certain forms of cancer (e.g., breast and skin cancer), breast reconstruction following mastectomy, traumatic injuries requiring reconstruction, congenital abnormalities, and exceptional procedures in the NHS. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research within the area served by the team/service. To provide clinical and professional supervision to trainees undertaking Doctoral training. To undertake service development within own area of practice. The postholder may be required to provide clinical/counselling psychology input across the service area and at different bases as required.
