SEND Teaching Assistant – Part‑time, long‑term temporary roles starting as soon as possible These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who want to make a meaningful impact across secondary schools in Salford and the surrounding areas. You’ll be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence in a safe and inclusive environment. Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning materials Promote pupil independence and engagement in lessons Monitor and record pupil progress and well-being Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and school policies Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Experience working with children or young people with SEND Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant Patient, empathetic, and resilient Able to work effectively as part of a team Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being Why Step Teachers?
