Your leadership will guide the daily operations of the ward, ensuring excellence across clinical practice, patient flow, and teamwork. You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external partners to support coordinated, holistic care that meets the diverse needs of patients and families. Your role will be central in shaping a positive workplace culture, driving continuous improvement, and upholding exceptional standards across the service. You’ll be supported with a comprehensive orientation, mentorship, and access to ongoing professional development through the Clinical Nurse Educator, Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Deputy DONM, and NUM education programs, ensuring you have the resources to thrive in this leadership role. About Us Armidale Rural Referral Hospital provides comprehensive, patient-focused care across emergency, surgery, maternity, rehab, allied health, and specialist services. The General Medical Unit is a 32-bed medical ward caring for general medical, cardiac telemetry, rehabilitation, and stroke patients. About You You are an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse who brings: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Proven clinical leadership experience, with the ability to guide, motivate, and support a diverse nursing team. A commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care, even in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills, helping you foster a cohesive, positive team culture. Confidence in managing daily operations, coordinating workflows, and responding effectively to challenges. A collaborative approach, working seamlessly with internal teams and external services to ensure coordinated patient care. A desire to lead with integrity, professionalism, and compassion, modelling the values and behaviours expected of a NUM.
