Research Scientist II – Dataminr Join our team in London, New York City, or Dublin as a Research Scientist II focused on real‑time event detection and AI innovation. This role can be remote or based in one of our global offices. About the Role Dataminr is a leading AI‑powered intelligence platform that provides the earliest signals of emerging risks, events, and threats before they unfold. Your work will directly influence product features that empower clients worldwide. Responsibilities Perform cutting‑edge research to advance the state of the art and solve large‑scale problems in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Collaborate closely with a diverse interdisciplinary team to deliver value to customers through new and existing products. Publish research in top-tier venues and participate in program committees. Apply a human‑centered lens to research, ensuring solutions align with real‑world impact and user needs. Productionize and ship research to Dataminr’s products, impacting millions of users worldwide. Senior candidates are expected to lead technical initiatives and/or teams. Qualifications Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field. Experience in AI for cyber‑security, large‑language models (LLMs), agentic AI, generation, machine translation, summarization, topic detection & tracking, text classification, knowledge extraction, trending topic detection, search, or deep learning. Outstanding publication record (IEEE, AAAI, NeurIPS, ACL, TACL, EMNLP, WWW, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work independently, design experiments, and measure progress with principled metrics. Proficiency in Python and experience with relevant libraries (PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers). Familiarity with LLM serving technologies such as vLLM is a plus. Professional experience in industry (or relevant internships for recent graduates). Compensation Annual base salary range: $148,240 – $218,000 (plus discretionary bonus and equity).
