Stock Team Manager Location: Plymouth | Pay: Up to £38,000 per annum (DOE) | Hours: 45 hours per week | Days: 5 out of 7 on a rota basis (including weekends) | Contract: Permanent Introduction Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Stock Team Manager to join a leading national logistics operation near Plymouth. In this role, you'll take ownership of daily stock management – ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all stock control processes. You'll lead by example, motivating your team, promoting safe working practices, and driving performance to achieve shared goals. Key Duties Oversee all stock management processes, including PI count cycles, replenishment, ghost stock, and quarantine compliance to maintain accurate inventory and meet company standards. Monitor and analyse stock performance, including date-sensitive items, stock loss, and HUB credits; escape issues and implement improvements to reduce waste and optimise availability. Lead and develop the stock control team, setting clear objectives, managing performance, and fostering an engaging, safe, and inclusive work environment aligned with company values and KPIs. Ensure excellent customer service by investigating quality issues, managing customer credits, and collaborating across departments to resolve queries and maintain high satisfaction levels. Promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement – maintaining QHSE standards, ensuring accurate system updates, and driving process enhancements through teamwork and innovation. Requirements Proven experience managing large volumes of date-sensitive stock within a fast‑paced warehousing or foodservice distribution environment. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, manage change, and influence stakeholders across departments. Highly organised and adaptable, able to prioritise conflicting deadlines and plan workloads effectively in a dynamic environment. Analytical and innovative mindset, demonstrating sound judgement, problem‑solving ability, and a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement. Confident IT user with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with data and reporting systems.
