Due to our rapid growth at Transmission & Distribution Ltd, we’re looking to recruit an experienced Overhead Lines Construction Manager to meet our increasing project demands, with a site-based role across various projects in England & Wales. This opportunity is a site-based position; we have works issued under various OHL frameworks supporting various clients. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across England & Wales. Do not miss this exciting opportunity to be a part of our growing team #LI-Onsite The Role Supporting the Project Manager and Senior Construction Manager, you will supervise and deliver key packages of overhead lines (OHL) construction projects, specifically access and enabling works. You will assist in the production of construction plans and coordinate the engineering support team. You will also be responsible for the procurement of construction materials and specialist subcontracts for the successful delivery of projects. You will have previous experience of managing sites and field-based staff on overhead lines (OHL) projects and associated civil works. Technical expertise of OHL installation methods and all safety aspects including safety from the system are key. Previous working knowledge of distribution network operators is essential. Expected Minimum qualification to International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience Previous experience of managing sites and field-based staff on overhead lines (OHL) projects and associated civil works Technical expertise of overhead lines (OHL) installation methods and all safety aspects Previous experience of working for distribution network operators Ability to deliver works in line with project schedules, including resource and material forecasting Experience managing subcontractors and recording measurement details for financial settlement Previous experience of supervising Engineering Support teams on projects through all phases of design, construction, commissioning & close out Experienced in coordinating and controlling team delivery in accordance with agreed cost, schedule & change without compromising Safety Health Environment & Quality (SHEQ) standards Good knowledge of street works, and Local Authorities permit requirements Accredited Safety Training, Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) as a minimum Recognised training in the function of temporary Works Coordinator Possess a recognised safety qualification such as Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) or National Examination Board of Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) Full UK Driving Licence Desirable NEC3 Form of Contract New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Scottish Southern Electricity (SSE) System Authorisations This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business at the forefront of net zero with a secured workstream for years to come.
