Join us in Rail and you’ll help deliver projects that connect people, drive regeneration and support a greener future.Note: While you’ll start in a specific team, client-facing roles naturally evolve over time, offering the chance to work with different clients, teams and sectors across Mace Consult as projects and priorities change.What you’ll doIn Civil Engineering, you will play a key role in providing support to the assistant and project engineer for site delivery. You will understand the scope of works and the quality control activities require to ensure compliant works, as well as the Mace temporary works procedure and safety procedures and assist in the implementation of these. Some of your main responsibilities will include:Establishing and maintaining secondary control on the project from primary controlProviding dimensional control for main contractor worksAssisting with defined inspections to allow Mace verification of the worksAssisting with collating quality recordsReviewing design information and comparing with construction works to gain a practical understandingMaintaining a personal site diary to capture and record activitiesDeveloping working relationships with internal stakeholdersProviding guidance and coaching to junior team membersYou will also work towards gaining professional membership of a professional association, fully funded and supported by us with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE).What we can offer youOur two-year Graduate Development Programme gives you structured on-the-job training and the chance to take on meaningful work from day one. Our projects and clients are based in various locations, so you should be prepared to travel frequently to different project sites or Mace Consult offices. A positive and adaptable approach to travel is therefore essential, as it may be a regular part of your role.
