We provide one-stop access to services ranging across project and construction management, feasibility studies, concept, basic and detailed design, and risk management for all types of tunnelling and underground works.We’re looking for a Senior Tunnelling Engineer to work on Major Civils projects of a tunnelling nature at all levels to join our teams across the UK. With an exciting and growing project portfolio, there is no better time to join usWhat can we offer?You’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most rewarding Civil Infrastructure/ Tunnelling projects across both the UK and abroad such as:Snowdonia Cable TunnelLondon Power TunnelsPumped Storage schemes for Electrical Power GenerationMajor Road tunnelsAlthough advertised as a full time role, part time options will also be considered.Here’s what you’ll do:Deliver: Act as a Design Lead for elements of a project, liaising directly with clients and the wider design team for the day to day design development but being guided by a Technical Lead / mentorProvide Expertise: Manage more junior engineers in the design of infrastructure elementsDeliver: Provide input to the developCome grow with us.We develop projects from concept through operation providing engineering and construction services for multiyear, multimillion-dollar projects for major rail and transit agencies. Take advantage of career development opportunities, our flexible hybrid working model to ensure a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle, technical practice networks, AECOM University, and volunteering days.QualificationsReady to push the limits of what’s possible?Here’s what we’re looking for:You will ideally be educated to degree level in Civil or Civil & Structural Engineering, and/ or have MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/ Geotechnical/ Tunnelling Engineering, with/working towards a professional membership.You will have broad experience as a designer in Reinforced Concrete to Eurocodes in relation to underground structures such as secant piles, capping beams, segmental shaft linings, in situ concrete structural elements, D-Walls, shafts and tunnels.A Civil or Structural Engineer with good familiarity of Geotechnical Engineering principles as they apply to soil-structure interactionWe celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team.
