CYPMH Assistant Practitioner The closing date is 23 December 2025 This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative, dynamic and growing multi-disciplinary Community CYPMH in LSCFT- Fylde and Wyre. The children & young people who access our services present with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties ranging from moderate to severe. You would be joining an established, supportive and hardworking team who are passionate about improving the outcomes for the children, young people and their families/carers. As a Community CAMHS Mental Health assistant Practitioner you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team offering consultation, assessment and evidence-based interventions to children and young people we serve. Please be aware that this role is not eligible for sponsorship. Main duties of the job Main duties of the Community CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner include: Supporting mental health assessments and formulations Building therapeutic relationships with children and young people and delivering evidence-based interventions (including group treatment) Liaising with and offering consultation to other agencies Contributing to all aspects of positive team functioning Contributing to ongoing service innovations and development About us Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care. Person Specification Qualifications NVQ Level 4 or HND qualification in child/social studies, Health or Education or Social Services or equivalent. Level 3 will be considered if individual has considerable practical experience. Knowledge Knowledge of signs and symptoms of a range of problematic psychological presentations (attachment, anxiety, low resilience, low self-confidence etc). Experience Evidence of working with children and young people who present with emotional difficulties. Evidence of providing family support to parents/carers presenting with psychological difficulties. Previous experience working with young people who self-harm. Previous experience of working in a community setting with children, young people and their families with significant mental health presentations and/or social care needs and/or educational needs.
