Mechanical Technician University Hospital South Bucks, High Wycombe, England, United Kingdom Overview Serco offers an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our team based in University Hospital South Bucks. You will provide safe and efficient maintenance of mechanical services and equipment within the hospital as directed by Estates Supervisors and Management. Full-time – 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 0800 – 1600 hours. On call rota 1 in 5 Salary up to £45,000.00 with additional payments for on‑call rota and authorised persons responsibilities. Main Accountabilities Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning and maintenance of a wide range of services, plant and equipment. Perform planned preventive maintenance on plant and equipment. Work in accordance with Serco policies, workplace regulations and best practice guidelines. Take a proactive approach to health & safety system development and review of work instructions. Operate safely and responsibly, respecting safety of own and others. Attend work according to the Computerised Time & Attendance System. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Be prepared to work beyond normal hours when requested. Communicate unrepaired faults, defects or spare part requirements to supervisors. Attend on‑site and off‑site training as required. Understand the role’s impact on Serco’s contract and company objectives. Take on authorised person duties (pressure systems, Legionella RP, ventilation, medical gas) as provided. Work Monday‑Friday covering on‑site operational hours 08:00 – 17:00. Participate in on‑call rota 17:00 – 08:00 outside normal hours. What You’ll Need To Do The Role Completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship or other structured training programme. Appropriate City & Guilds and/or BTEC certificates. Proven experience in a similar environment. Knowledge and understanding of mechanical building services. Good communication and customer service skills.
