OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Integrated Stroke Early Supported Discharge and Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service.The service develops high standard neuropsychology provision within a countywide setting, delivering care across patient homes, wards and via virtual consultations. The successful candidate may be required to provide clinical cover across the county and should have access to a car for work purposes.ResponsibilitiesProvide specialist psychology for the Stroke Early Supported Discharge and Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service, using evidence-based practice and ensuring effective, appropriate clinical care.Deliver specialist psychological programmes to support patients with complex needs; manage a clinical caseload across Cambridgeshire.Work autonomously within a multi-professional team (including Psychology Assistants, OTs, Physiotherapists, SLTs, Specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants).Conduct holistic specialist assessments using advanced clinical reasoning and a range of data sources (psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews).Identify patient needs, agree goals and provide appropriate psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups; refine formulations across explanatory models.Evaluate treatment options with consideration of theoretical models and multi-modal assessments; formulate and implement plans for cognitive, behavioural and/or emotional management.Provide specialist neurological advice to the MDT, service users and others regarding changes to care plans and patient progress; ensure care complies with Trust and HCPC guidelines and national/local standards.Ensure accurate and timely written records; coordinate case conferences to support integrated care and planning.Supervise junior staff and students; support and educate peers, non-registered staff and band 7/6/5 therapists as appropriate.Be actively involved in training and teaching to achieve competencies and be accountable for delegated caseloads held by non-registered staff within the team.Build and maintain relationships with referring services to facilitate appropriate referrals; participate in duty processes to prioritise timely assessments.Work in various community settings, including lone working; travel as required with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.QualificationsEssentialPost-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS, including modules in psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, and two or more psychological therapies; lifespan development.Current HCPC registration.Professional knowledge in Neuro Rehabilitation including Stroke rehabilitation; theoretical study and experience in Neuro Rehabilitation; evidence of CPD.Ability to work flexibly as part of a team; good time management and prioritisation skills.Physical ability to drive and travel across the locality (must have access to a personal car).DesirablePost-doctoral training in additional specialized areas of psychological practice; current BPS registration.Extensive experience of working in a community Neuro Rehabilitation service.ExperienceEssentialExperience of working with adults with neurological conditions across a range of severities.Experience of teaching, training and professional/clinical supervision.Post-graduate clinical experience in varied settings, including community and cross-service work.DesirableExtensive experience in a community Neuro Rehabilitation service.Other requirementsDVLA reciprocal arrangements note: see DVLA guidance as applicable.Disclosure and Barring Service check may be required.UK registration and sponsorship information as applicable.Employer details: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.
