Job Summary We are seeking to strengthen our award‑winning Diabetes and Endocrinology team. The role has opportunities to work in the new MMUH hospital as well as community settings. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward‑thinking doctors who can contribute to the delivery of excellent care to our patients and help build an outstanding service that can be at the forefront of diabetology and endocrinology care long into the future. Main Duties The post will enable the successful applicant to develop sub‑specialty interests to complement the existing consultant staff, as well as contributing to the delivery of both general Diabetes/Endocrine clinics and existing specialist areas such as ANC and Pump services. The appointee will take equal responsibility with existing Consultants for the proper functioning of the clinical service, working with clinical and managerial colleagues towards achieving and maintaining national maximum waiting times and developing clinical pathways in line with the 18‑week patient pathway guarantee, whilst also developing new services. There will be a commitment to General Medical on‑call as part of this post, which at present is 1 in 8 split for weekend and 1 in 27 weekday nights. Sessions will be prioritised for those with a commitment to research and an interest in an area of research that maps to University of Birmingham strengths.
