Maths Teacher / Maths ECT – January 2026 We are a STEM‑focused school in Slough looking for a Maths Teacher / Maths ECT to join our team on a permanent contract starting January 2026. Job Overview Our school routinely achieves some of the best results in STEM subjects in Berkshire, thanks to a supportive environment that prioritises teacher well‑being. We have expanded our staff to provide more support, reducing the pressure on teachers for planning and allowing them to focus on teaching and student engagement. This approach has helped us gain an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted grade. Key Opportunities and Support TLR opportunities for experienced teachers (e.g. KS3 coordinator, pastoral roles, etc.) 1:1 mentor and bespoke ECT induction In‑house and out‑of‑house training sessions Collaboration with a faculty of young and experienced teachers Excellent reputation in the local area for well‑behaved and high‑achieving students Responsibilities Teaching across KS3, KS4, and optionally KS5 Planning lessons in line with the Curriculum for Excellence national guidance Collaborating with colleagues to coordinate lessons and share resources Working within a fully staffed teaching department supported by teaching assistants to reduce planning time Engaging in continuous professional development and mentoring activities Person Specification UK Qualified Teacher Status Strong understanding of current teaching standards Maths‑related degree at 1:1 or 2:1 from a reputable university Ambitious, driven, and enthusiastic about teaching Excellent communication skills Desire to progress in a supportive and progressive school environment School Description ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating Successful maths department with outstanding results Located in Slough with excellent transport links Supportive leadership team with a focus on staff development How to Apply If a Maths Teacher / Maths ECT role aligns with your career goals, please send your CV to Joe at EdEx.
