From preparing the business case and advising on related issues to delivering infrastructure and helping maintain it, our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. Overview Of The Role Mott MacDonald is a global leader advising clients across all types of infrastructure. We are looking to appoint a Ports Masterplanner to join our team of experts. The role offers involvement in high-impact projects worldwide, from complex port masterplans to feasibility studies and operational assessments. What You Will Do Deliver solutions for greenfield and brownfield developments across diverse maritime sectors, including containers, breakbulk, dry bulk, liquid bulk, RoRo, drydock, naval, ferry, cruise, fishing, marina, offshore wind and energy transition facilities Develop masterplans and terminal layouts for ports worldwide Conduct capacity studies, operational audits, due diligence, and appraise development economics and forecast cargo demands Collaborate with engineering, environmental, and advisory teams to deliver comprehensive solutions Promote digital innovation through PRIME BPM or FlexSim integrated planning tools Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development Candidate specification You Will Be Able To Demonstrate The Following Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng) or related discipline Professional chartership or advanced project management qualification (e.g., ChPP, PMP) Experience in ports masterplanning for greenfield and brownfield developments across diverse maritime sectors Strong understanding of master planning policy, legislation, guidelines, and principles Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset Proficiency with port planning/simulation tools As we want the best people for the role, it’s available as part time, job share, or full time. You may need to travel overseas for project assignments when required.
