Payroll Executive / Administrator Join a growing team in South East Reading, Berkshire or a leading accountancy practice in Wokingham or Coventry. Key Responsibilities Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for weekly, monthly and annual pay periods. Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, pension auto‑enrolment and other statutory requirements. Accurately enter and maintain payroll data, resolving discrepancies promptly. Liaise with clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional service and meet deadlines. Assist with year‑end processes, including P60s, P11Ds, P45s and electronic filing. Process starters, leavers, salary amendments and other payroll entries. Maintain and update employee records and payroll database. Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and provide approval reports. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll enquiries and HMRC queries. Provide high‑level administrative support and collaborate with recruitment, finance and commercial teams. Skills & Experience Required 1–2 years’ payroll experience within a practice, bureau or multi‑site environment. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements. Proficiency in payroll software such as Staffology, Sage, BrightPay or similar. Ability to prioritise workload and work calmly under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to build strong client relationships. High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and integrity. Good IT skills; familiarity with MS Office, payroll platforms and Excel (Pivot, VLookup, formulas). Additional Qualifications CIPP qualification preferred but not essential. Payroll or data analytics qualification an advantage. Full UK driving licence (for some roles). Right to work in the UK; DBS/Background check required. Offer Salary 28,000 – 35,000 p.a.
