OverviewJob title: Live-In Personal Assistant (PA)Reporting to: The EmployerLocation: Redditch, Worcestershire B98Job purposeTo assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.About the employerOur client is a 53-year-old gentleman who is a full-time wheelchair user living in the Redditch area who requires support for 24 hours per day from a live-in Personal Assistant.This Personal Assistant role is to support our client with accessing the community & attending activities.Our client is Non-Verbal but communicates his needs and wishes using a Bliss Book. He is also PEG Fed which training can be provided for the successful candidate.Main dutiesSocial duties: keep in touch and socialise with family and friendsAttend work at Coventry UniversityAttend social activities & events in the local communityPersonal care: support with showering, shaving, teeth cleaning, dressing, PEG feeding, administering medication, eating or performing exercises/physiotherapyPerson specificationValues: someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity or has a good sense of humour.Specific requirements: someone with experience in caring for individuals with complex needs. Trained in Moving & Handling & PEG Feeding. Must be able to drive.Hours and payHours of work: 24 hours per day – 1 week on 1 week off basis.Rate of pay: £2720 Per MonthSkills, qualifications, and experienceEssential: driving licence; car and appropriate insurance; previous care experience; previous experience of PEG Feeding; trained in moving & handling; confidentiality; good at building relationshipsPreferred: computer literate; good communicator; ability to support people with complex needsThis role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
