As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you can. Large installations in the UK are required to use ‘Best Available Techniques’ (BAT) to reduce emissions to air, water and land. We’ve established a process for the definition of BAT within the UK, a transparent, collaborative, data‑led approach that safeguards and builds on existing environmental protection levels. Central to this process will be the UK BAT Senior Advisor. Responsibilities A good understanding of process engineering and environmental issues An eye for detail when reviewing technical documents A good understanding of environmental legislation and policy in the UK Capability to critically review arguments and data Ability to coordinate the work of technical authors Great project management skills and a drive to complete tasks Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required Support and training on inclusive incident management objectives Qualifications At least 5 years working experience and solid understanding of environmental regulation across industrial sectors Experience with UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including the IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations Coordinating and reviewing the publication of technical documents Understanding the implications of BAT Conclusions in permits, on industry and the environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to plan, prioritise and organise tasks and resources to achieve timely results Adaptability to challenges and consensus‑building ability Collection and technical analysis of complex industrial data Effectiveness working with people from diverse backgrounds and actively encouraging consideration of diversity issues Key Details Employment type: Full‑timeSeniority level: Mid‑Senior levelJob function: Other Application We’re committed to an inclusive workforce, so welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds.
