In this pivotal role, you’ll shape and influence architectural vision, drive major transformation programmes, and ensure our solutions align with business strategy and future needs. You’ll provide thought leadership, mentor other architects, and play a key part in setting technology direction across the bank.What you’ll doLead the definition and delivery of technology strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders and the Architecture Lead.Set and maintain architecture roadmaps, guardrails, and patterns, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals.Provide strategic oversight and governance for major transformation initiatives.Mentor and develop a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Represent architecture in executive forums, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.Build and maintain strong relationships across business, engineering, and technology teams.Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, bringing innovative thinking to the organisation.Champion agile ways of working and support iterative delivery.What you’ll needArchitecture & TechnologyDeep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)Strategic experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), hybrid hosting, and modern architecturesStrong background in API design, microservices, modular applications, and data strategies (ETL, modelling, governance)Knowledge of cybersecurity, technology sustainability, and digital transformation in complex environmentsExperience in payments, retail banking, and large-scale changeLeadership & Strategic InfluenceProven ability to set architectural vision and influence at senior levelsExperience leading and mentoring architecture teamsStrong track record of driving technology strategy and transformationCollaboration & CommunicationExcellent communication and storytelling skills, able to engage and influence executive stakeholdersAbility to build trusted relationships across engineering, product, and business teamsContinuous ImprovementCommitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of technology trendsPassion for driving process improvements and embedding best practicesAbout Working For UsWe’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects modern society.
