Overview A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. A Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine / Emergency Medicine is required to join the existing team of Consultants at the Royal Oldham Hospital of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA). This appointment will be made in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions. A formal job plan will be reviewed between the appointee and the Clinical Director, three months after the commencement date. The timetable will be flexible, arranged in discussion with the appointee, ensuring it meets the requirements of the new Consultant contract and the service needs of the Division. This will be approved by the Medical Director and reviewed at least annually, setting out a Consultant’s duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. The Emergency Department supports flexible working with an electronic self‑rostering system for Consultants, promoting a positive work‑life balance. Full‑time and part‑time applicants will be considered. The post holder will have continuing responsibility for the care of Paediatric and Adult patients in his or her charge, for the proper functioning of the service, and will undertake the administrative duties associated with patient care and the running of the clinical department. He or she will work in partnership with colleagues of all disciplines, external links to the Trust and service users, to ensure a quality service. The post holder will supervise the work of junior colleagues and provide advice and support as necessary.
