You will be based at one of our special schools with a small team of therapists and will work in a friendly, supportive and forward‑thinking environment. Main duties of the job Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to children, young people and their families. As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in Waltham Forest. You will be working in a special school, which caters for children with visual impairment as well as other diagnoses such as autism. You will join a small team that works in the school, as well as a wider network within our Special Schools team. Our band five therapists are well supported through our band five peer supervision group and regular supervision from an experienced therapist. We have regular catch‑meetings and service‑specific meetings. We provide both internal and external training opportunities and promote a reflective team culture where change is welcomed. About us Starting with NELFT – NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers and attend drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. Probationary Period – This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). High Cost Area Supplement – London – This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (subject to a minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941).
