Lecturer in Computing - Manchester Department: Academic/Bath Spa University (BSU) Location: Manchester Salary: £51,000 We are currently seeking Lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Computing programme in partnership with Bath Spa University. Due to our delivery model, flexibility to teach on weekdays, evenings and weekends is required. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Responsibilities All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met. Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate. Using a variety of learning and teaching methods and materials. Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties. Keeping up to date with the latest developments in your field and student support practices. Working towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression. Qualifications Hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. Extensive knowledge of at least two of the following areas: programming and software development, web development, database systems, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, IoT and emerging technologies, business IT systems, IT management, AI and Machine Learning, operating systems, UI/UX. Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback. Experience with accurate reporting and maintaining thorough, organised student records. Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills. Ability to work with diverse groups of people. Desirable Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during probationary period and complete within three years. Experience in design or development of academic or professional education programmes. What We Offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
