Then this role may be for you You will support the development of an effective learner recruitment function, planning and organising a diverse range of engagement activities to promote the colleges offer to our key markets. You should be able to work with young people and adults to help and advise them regarding further education opportunities and choices. Key features of the role will include extending and developing links, events and activities with local schools, agencies, employers and the local community. You will be expected to work flexibly within the team to provide marketing and communications support across the college. 2 Posts available, one will focus on the recruitment of adult learners and the other post, 16 -19-year-olds. The role will require you to embed the college’s values; Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Ambition and Compassion. 2. The Post Main Duties and Responsibilities Working with the Learner Engagement Manager, develop and co‑coordinate marketing and recruitment campaigns to promote the college’s adult, academic, vocational and apprenticeship training offer across our key markets. Be responsible one of the following key focuses: 16-18 Schools Alternative Provision Providers and Youth Guarantee link Adult and Community Engagement Support the planning and management of learner engagement and outreach activities across local schools, careers/jobs fairs, internal college events, parent evenings, and within the wider community — including youth clubs, family hubs, and local organisations — to promote the college’s courses and opportunities. Deliver information and advice about learning opportunities through a variety of methods, including presentations/lessons to large and small groups, one‑to‑one conversations, information stands, community events, and over the phone. Develop, build and maintain a network of contacts across schools, youth agencies, employers, training providers, and community organisations to support recruitment, strengthen referral pathways, and promote opportunities at the college. Share information on educational opportunities and local labour markets, collect feedback, and use data to improve future engagement activities. Work collaboratively with internal departments, including curriculum teams, apprenticeship staff, and adult and community education teams, to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date course information is shared effectively. Administration and Reporting - Maintain accurate records of all engagement activities, contacts, and outcomes. Contribute to reports and evaluation processes to measure impact and support continuous improvement. Manage stock levels of promotional materials, equipment, and branded resources to ensure efficient use and availability for all events and outreach activities. Ensure that all key college publications and marketing materials are delivered to identified venues across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, including retail outlets, libraries, job centres, schools, and other strategic community locations. Liaise with the Learner Engagement Manager to identify new and high‑impact distribution points to maximise visibility and engagement. Be the point of contact for schools, alternative providers, agencies and stakeholders to provide accurate and relevant information, advice and guidance ensuring a professional and customer focused service is delivered. 2.2 Other Responsibilities To uphold and promote college policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work, including the Equality & Diversity policies and procedures and attend training as requested. To apply the college’s own safeguarding policy and practices and attend training as requested. To keep up to date, so far as necessary, for the efficient executing of the job, with new legislation, procedures and techniques and attend relevant mandatory training. To be conversant with and participate in activities and developments at college, regional and national level which are relevant to the post. To present and promote an appropriate public image in representing the college. To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post. 3. Skills, Qualities & Knowledge Essential Maths to at least level 2 English to at least level 2 Level 3 qualification in information and guidance or willing to work towards IT Stage 2 Qualification Word Processing Level 2 (intermediate) qualification Driving Licence Prior experience of customer service and/or IAG Prior experience of events management Handling of confidential information Dealing effectively with young people Demonstrate suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults including knowledge/understanding of safeguarding Ability to work under pressure Accuracy and attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Good organisational and administrative skills Ability to deliver presentations Knowledge of the post‑16 education sector Desirable Commitment to Inclusivity, Equality and Diversity Passion about importance of good service Commitment to a team approach Flexibility in working patterns Willingness to work unsocial hours 4. Position within the College The post-holder will be part of the Student Services team and will report directly to the Learner Engagement Manager. 5. Terms & Conditions The post is offered on a Vision Business Support Services contract and is subject to those terms and conditions. The salary will be Support Band 5, £26,792 per annum (pro rata for part time hours). You will be required to work 37 hours per week on a flexible basis. You will be entitled to 39 days leave: 27 holiday leave, 8 bank holidays and 4 concessionary days. (Please note the concessionary days are for the two‑week Christmas break). Pro rata for part time hours. Vision Business Support Services operates a Scottish Widows Group Personal Pension Plan. The post holder will be based at our Mansfield Brewery site, although you may be located at any West Nottinghamshire College Group Site and may be expected to travel as required. You will however be given reasonable notice of any change in your principal place of work and be fully consulted. 6.
