Our Vision: Changing Lives through Education Position: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer This role will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. The engineer will monitor building conditions, undertake repairs and renovations, assist Estates and Facilities in planning refurbishment projects, and may travel to other GBS UK campuses. The role requires flexible working to accommodate business operations, 40-hour work week, covering Monday to Sunday 7:00am to 9:30pm and occasional out-of-hours work. Responsibilities Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Building and Equipment Maintenance Health, Safety, and Compliance Documentation and Inventory Management Refurbishment and Fit‑Out Projects Travel and Flexibility Experience and Skills Required 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques A flexible and proactive approach – “can do” attitude Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals Interpersonal skill and ability to work independently and as part of the facilities wider team Full, Clean Driving Licence What We Offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays 1-day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days Workplace pension scheme Tuition reimbursement for career development courses Flexible Benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Techscheme and more Perks@Work discounts platform, wellbeing centre and more Reward and recognition programme £500 award employee referral scheme Discretionary annual performance bonus “GBS has been a good place for professional growth.
