In the role of a Software Graduate Apprentice, you will work with the Engineering and Industry teams to design Software Solutions for our Engineering Systems and Hardware. You’ll collaborate with other teams in the business to deliver effective software systems and grow your skills and knowledge. You will also have the opportunity to support embedded systems, allowing you to test your coding on real‑time cutting edge hardware. As a Software Engineer Apprentice, you will be studying at the University of Strathclyde towards a BSc in Software Development. Over this 4‑year programme, you will combine university studies with practical application, working within our Software function in Glasgow. You will be given one day per week to focus on your studies. On the other four days, you will work in the business, applying your university learning in a real‑life engineering environment. Apprentices will attend classes on campus for 10 days annually, once a month during term‑time. Upon completion of the programme, you will move into a permanent role within Thales in Glasgow. 4 Highers (BBBB) including either Maths, Computing Science or Physics National 5 English at grade C or above Due to the nature of the work at Thales, all roles are subject to security restrictions. All successful candidates must possess the permanent right to work in the UK and will be required to go through Government security clearance at BPSS Level and obtain full Security Clearance (SC) in line with the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) requirements, prior to starting with us. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held; if not, the successful applicant must undergo, achieve and maintain SC Clearance before commencing employment. As part of the vetting process, you will provide evidence of your identity, eligibility to work in the UK, time spent abroad over the last 5 years, as well as employment and/or educational history.
