Dispensing Pharmacy Assistant

Responsibilities Work alongside pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and assistants to provide a patient‑focused dispensing service and complete in‑house competencies and an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services to support all activities detailed in the job description. Receive prescriptions from patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals at the dispensary reception. Ensure the prescription charge is collected from eligible patients at the dispensary reception. Receive medication charts and controlled drug books from other healthcare professionals at the dispensary reception. Answer the telephone and deal with queries from patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals about stocks held and medications ready for collection, and refer queries as appropriate. Label and dispense in‑patient, out‑patient, discharge prescriptions and Controlled Drugs. Act as a Logist for a major incident if required. Maintain computer literacy skills required for day‑to‑day work.
