Derbyshire County Council is excited to recruit a Local Nature Recovery Strategy Officer to lead the delivery phase of our Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS). This is a unique opportunity to coordinate a high-profile, nationally significant initiative that will guide nature recovery across the county, embedding biodiversity into decision-making and unlocking investment in our natural capital. About The Role You’ll be at the heart of Derbyshire’s nature recovery efforts, working with a wide range of partners—from landowners and local authorities to conservation organisations and community groups—to help translate the Strategy into action. Your role will be to: Convene and support a cross-sector delivery partnership Help embed LNRS priorities into local plans and policies Facilitate work with partners to develop strategic nature recovery projects Monitor and report on delivery progress to Defra and stakeholders Lead communications and engagement to raise awareness and promote action This is a dynamic and outward-facing role, requiring excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to facilitate, encourage, and support partners and others to deliver the LNRS. The role will also require project management, teamwork, and strategic thinking in order to be successful. About You Experience in environmental, biodiversity or land management sectors Strong communication and partnership-building skills A working understanding of nature conservation and environmental policy The ability to manage complex workloads and deliver results Knowledge of Derbyshire’s landscapes, habitats and stakeholders is desirable, as is experience with GIS and data reporting.
