Provision of seamless care and wellbeing for all women and birthing people, is at the forefront of our practice. Our midwives strive to provide holistic care for all and pride ourselves on expertise, knowledge and the delivery of evidence based, personalised midwifery care. As a Band 6 Midwife at Birmingham Women's Hospital you will have the opportunity to be part of a flexible rotation pattern working in Maternity Triage, it will involve a rotation to Delivery Suite and can also include our inpatient wards if requested too. The amount of time in each area can be tailored to you. We are also able to support newly qualified midwives as part of our Preceptorship Programme if you have a current NMC pin. In addition, we have an opportunity to include our triage team as part of the rotation if this is something you would like to consider. Please do not apply if you have not completed this already. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job Providing clinical care within the maternity unit as a Rotational Band 6 Midwife . Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS Registered Midwife BSc or equivalent degree Evidence of professional progression UK NMC Midwife registration KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE Evidence of completion of band 5 preceptorship programme IV drug administration Epidural Management CTG interpretation Cannulation and suturing knowledge and skills PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE Evidence of good written and oral communication skills Demonstrates understanding of the importance of supportive working in a team. Ability to understand and adhere to the equal opportunities policy Willing to work on established Nursing/Midwifery information systems, EPR or the relevant information system related to post PERSONAL SKILLS / ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES Ability to work days / nights/ flexible shifts Resource for communication with and dissemination of information from the multidisciplinary team.
