The posts are suitable for either a Band 5 Occupational Therapist with relevant experience and ready for promotion or a Band 6 looking for a new challenge. We have an exciting opportunity for 2 enthusiastic and committed Occupational Therapists to join our growing team in Children's Community Occupational Therapy in Redbridge, London. Main Duties Experience and develop skills in different areas within the service and work in a variety of settings: clinic, schools, nurseries, and family homes. One post, newly created with SEND investment, will focus on provision of identified need for EHCPs. The other Band 6 role is currently covered by agency and involves supporting the OT team in delivering required input across a variety of caseloads. Work closely with colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services, and specialist opportunities exist to work within the Child Development Team and deliver parent/carer training. Access to clinical space and close working relations with multi‑disciplinary teams. About the Team The Children's Occupational Therapy Team are based in a purpose‑built centre co‑located with many other health and local authority children’s services in Redbridge. Therapists have access to clinical space and close working relations with multi‑disciplinary teams. There is a well‑established appraisal system and a commitment to support staff to develop leadership and clinical skills, through regular supervision and internal and external training opportunities. Requirements Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC Registration. Good knowledge of current best practice in Occupational Therapy and post‑registration experience in Children’s Services. Experience as a Band 5 OT (minimum 18 months). Demonstrated knowledge of standards of practice, evidence and best‑practice guidelines in OT. Understanding of the role of OT in rehabilitation and of other professionals in an MDT. IT proficiency. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Problem‑solving, initiative and flexible working. Commitment to clinical and professional development. Ability to travel within the area efficiently. Excellent time‑management and prioritisation. Desirable Membership of a specialist interest group. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Practice & Conditions Band: 6Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year plus HCAS per annum (pro rata)Contract: PermanentWorking pattern: Full‑time, Part‑time, Job share, Flexible workingProbationary period applies.
