Engineer - Development Infrastructure Join to apply for the Engineer - Development Infrastructure role at Sweco. You will create innovative solutions to global challenges, contributing to sustainable designs across residential, energy and commercial developments. What Does the Role Involve? As part of the Development Infrastructure team on residential, energy and commercial projects, you will act as an Engineer to undertake and check the delivery of design solutions and coordinate with other disciplines. You will be involved in projects from conception to completion, supporting the Project Manager with project brief clarification, deliverables, milestones, methodology; undertaking detailed design elements and checking outputs (calculations, models, drawings, sketches, reports). You will take ownership of quality and manage delivery within agreed timescales, ensuring compliance with the Company Integrated Management system and health and safety legislation. Civil engineering Section 104, 38 & 278 agreements Highways and earthworks design Drainage, flood risk management and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Site appraisal Construction Design and Management (CDM) To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Have A collaborative attitude and a desire to work in a team An academic qualification, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Ideally accredited by the Engineering Council to work toward a professional qualification Relevant post-qualification engineering design experience and project delivery in residential, energy and commercial sectors, including pre-planning or post-planning detailed design. Understanding of S104, S38 and S278 agreements A minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience expected Experience in civil engineering infrastructure modelling software – ideally Civil 3D or comparable (e.g. PDS, OpenRoads); some AutoCAD experience essential Experience of drainage design tools such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage or Flow Proficiency in MS Office 365 tools Experience in resource or commercial management on projects Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with an interest in innovative solutions The ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet project timescales Availability to travel to sites and offices within the UK; a driving licence is helpful but not essential What’s in it for you?
